Hi Everybody! For the past three months I have been one of the resident lurkers of this forum. It is really sad because I read people's threads and how Atkins works "miracles", but I just haven't made the jump yet. Well 2009 going to be the year for me. I am NOT going to be the fat girl in nursing school. I don't like to make new years resolutions because I never stick to them. I hope with this board I can find the extra strength to stick to my guns! Thanks!Amanda

Re: Sick of Lurking....
Hi, Amanda! Checking in with this Board frequently will help you alot ... plenty of info and moral support, and who doesn't need that? You keeping a food diary? If not on paper, then you can try FitDay or some other free online program ... VERY helpful. And don't forget to drink plenty of water
....hmmm, what else? Join in the Challenges, if you can ... I always recommend the Water Challenge (committing to drinking so many ounces of water, and then logging in daily) ... speaking of which, I need to do that myself! Thanks for the reminder

Re: Sick of Lurking....
LOL FLdoodette. Thank you for the advice! A water challenge would be GREAT for me. I am addicted to those evil things called diet coke and caffeine! I would love to be able to use Fitday but I am on a 2000 model computer with dial-up ; therefore, there are many things I cannot access on the web. Keeping a foot journal sounds like another great idea. Thanks again!

Also start a journal in Journal Chats which will help you keep track of your journey~the good & the bad. It is also a great way to keep in touch with all your new ADBB buddies!

Re: Sick of Lurking....
Hi Amanda! Welcome...
You will definitely find support and encouragement here!! I know that one of the things that has been most helpful to me is the knowledge of the people on the board who have already been down the road. I read and apply the ideas that they talk about. You don't have to look around much to see amazing success with this way of eating.
You will do great!!
