  • Back for round two of the only lifestyle that has ever gotten me to my goal

    Hi everyone!

    I am starting induction tomorrow and can hardly wait. It is like Christmas eve as a 5 year old! I have tried many "diets" over the years, but nothing....I mean nothing worked like Atkins. It may be because of my blood type (O+) being a hunter and gather or it may be the science behind a low carb lifestyle....either way, I am ready to roll!

    My first round with Atkins was very sucessful. After having my son I was up to 195...6 months on Atkins and I was a sexy 135. 4 years of poor eating habits (when I say poor, I mean not eating the correct portions of even my healthy food diet and of course that stuff we call beer) and little exercise and I am right back where I started!

    So, I am back to 192 and ready to get my weight back under control.

    good luck, i too am getting ready to start again. i think i'll be starting induction sunday. i am in the process now of re-reading the book. last time being a newly quit smoker did me in. but now i'm 2.5 years smoke free!!! i can't use THAT excuse anymore

      I wish you luck as well! I find in moments of weakness the best thing to do is remember something you did that you were sucessful at. You can easily use the fact that you quit smoking, because that is by no means an easy thing. At the end of the day, everything is mental and we have the power to choose what we will or will not do. My husband and I do a lot of cleansing, 10 days with no food and just the lemonade (freash sqeezed lemons, cayanne pepper, maple syrup and H2O) was enough to show me I have the will power to do anything I want to. Find your "will power place" kinda like a "happy place" and go there anytime you feel like giving up!

          Hello! I'm right there with you (187 lbs) and am on Day 2 of Induction. Today I am wonderfully motivated. We can do this! And with the ADBB, we're not in it alone. Good luck and keep us posted.
