Hi All!
I started Atkins about 2 1/2 months ago, and I discovered this board today while researching a carb question online. Your stories and photos are very inspiring!
I have dropped two sizes in just 2 1/2 months, so have been very excited.
However, I got rid of my scales 2-3 years ago, put away my full length mirror, and have been living in denial over how heavy I have become over the past few years. So I was shocked when I bought a scale last week and discovered that I now weigh 240 lbs! I was stunned and ended up in bed for the day, with the covers over my head. I had weighed between 120-125 lbs. for most of my adult life, so I literally grew into two people.
I stayed with the program while I tried to wrap my mind around this new information. I was thinking that maybe I had 50 lbs. to lose...but 110 lbs is nearly a whole person! I am shocked by the depth of my own denial.
I am 50 and a single parent, living in Louisiana. My only child heads off to college this year. I would like to be much lighter for his graduation in mid-May. I just may not be as light as I wanted.
I thank God that I had a chance to see that Atkins really works before I weighed myself for the first time.
So glad that I found you!
