I'm not the type to do new year's resolution...after many years of failed attempts to do something about my weight, it has just sunk on me that it's time for me to take control of my life. At 22, I weigh the highest EVER (224.5lbs).
I've always been lucky to be able to hide the pounds, but as of late, it's become clear that i need to do something. i've tried atkins twice before (with much success), but never fully committed. yesterday, while spending time with my fiancee (who loves me unconditionally no matter what i weigh), i came to the realization that it's not fair for him to put up with my weird moods or attitude tantrums when i can't find anything nice to wear..it's not fair for me to deny myself a full and happy life..i no longer want to be a prisoner of my body, or hide behind black clothes...so today i hope to embark on a new journey..this time, for real.

five months ago i was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome)...a silent yet painful disease to live with, and weight gain only aggravates the symptoms..If I don't control my PCOS, bearing children will become nearly impossible...it's a fight for my life.

    Blessings to all.

      Welcome New Faith!

I too have PCOS and since I have been eating this way, things have improved for me.

This way of eating improves so many areas of our health.....keep it up this time, I know you can do it!!!! The benefits are well worth the fight to do the right thing and stick to it...believe me!

Come here lots, the support on this forum is amazing.

      All the best to you!
