    Hello - I am new - I spent Thanksgiving and Christmas with my sister who is overweight and out of shape. I am now motivated to get busy to move myself in the other direction before that becomes my fate, too. Lost 12 lbs so far. (Started the day after Thanksgiving).

    Welcome! 12 lbs. already? ... great start!

    You keeping a food diary? There are free ones online (like FitDay) ... very helpful for recording what you eat, your exercise ... even your mood!

    Don't forget to drink plenty of water ... at least 64 oz.

    Check in with this Board often ... ready everything; ask questions!

    Have you weighed and measured yourself so you can keep track of your progress? .... when you seem to have hit a plateau, a lot of the time you're actually losing inches instead (naturally you're exercising too, right? ), so it's nice to see the results on the tape measure. Don't get fixated on the scale ... it'll drive you nuts!

    Anyway, welcome aboard and enjoy the journey!

      congrats on your weight loss. I am on day three of induction and I am hoping to lose soon.

        hi and welcome!!! Listen to Norah, she knows what she's talking about! We are all here to help if you need it, or we're here to listen if you need a shoulder. Keep your head up and take this one step at a time. Don't worry what everyone else is doing or how much they have lost, they aren't you. Be grateful and happy for each pound and each inch you loose.

        You've got a great start going -- can't wait to hear about your progress.
