  • New commitment for a low-carb life.

I have tried Atkins several times and I have had success over the years, but I have always went back to my old habits after I reached my goal weight. Well in October of 2007 I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. The good news is that with diet and exercise I can control it, so already having a history with Atkins I new that would be the way for me to go. I immediately went to the library and checked out every book I could find on Type 2, one of them was the Atkins Diabetes Revolution.</SPAN>

When I started in late October I weighed 230lbs, and had fasting glucose numbers above 200. This morning I was 199 lbs and my fasting numbers are now averaging 111

So hello to everyone on the board, I am looking forward to lot’s of information sharing. I am a 45 year old male Type 2 Diabetic.

Re: New commitment for a low-carb life.

    Welcome!!!!

I am trying to get my fasting glucose #'s down too. This morning was 108, my Dr would like to see fasting glucose at around 80-90, so I have some work ahead of me...................

Make, slow, steady lifestyle changes you can live with and you will see permanent success.!!!

2009 is my year to shine!!
