Hey all...
I have been reading these boards for a while now and decided to join today...
I am a 30-year-old mum to an almost eight month old son.
I am 5ft 2ins tall and, after my son was born, had a weigh in at the doctors which put me at 12 and a half stone
I have always stayed between 9 and a half and 10 and a half before so it was a bit of a shock to the system!
Anyway, I decided to do something about it - and before Christmas I did a "clean" induction for two weeks.... I don't own scales but my waist measurement went from 40ins to 34ins and my hips from 44 to 40 (my arms and thighs remained stubbornly at the same size) i fell off the wagon over Christmas - though not drastically, as I found that eating carbs made me feel bloated and headachey.... and am now re-doing my induction (4 days in) as well as managing a half hour daily aerobic workout and a ten minute pilates session for either my legs/arms/abs (I'm rotating them to cover all angles!)
I can see the difference already - I am back in a size 12 (UK) jeans (although I would dearly love them to be a lot looser and not to have the "muffin top" effect!) I feel a lot better in myself and am proud of my acheivements...
I have re-read the book this week, and feel inspired to go forward with the Atkins WOE as a lifestyle... I only wish I could get my partner to join me as I do worry for his health with his eating habits...
So anyway that's me - HELLO! I look forward to enjoying your friendship and support...
