Long time lurker, first time poster
I have been an Atkins proponent for nearly 10 years, with my first time on the diet dating back to 1999. Over the years, through a combination of lack of willpower, love of wine/beer, lack of time & easy access to carb-laden foods, media and peer/family pressure, etc., I've fallen out the lifestyle many times, only to eventually regret it.
I've lost over 60 pounds from Atkins and the Bernstein Diet (a Doctor-assisted low carb diet in Canada), but have gained around 30 of that back over the past 3 years. Currently 255 lbs (my usual set point), as a 6' 1" male. My target is 205 lbs.
Reading Gary Taubes' book "Good Calories, Bad Calories" last year angered me enough to spur me back into action - this time for life.
Cheers
