Hello everyone my name is Sean.
I started Atkins on January 1 and therefore I'm 12 days into induction.
I'm 32 years of age and I'm looking to lose in the region of 80 lbs.
An added complication to my story is that I am a quadriplegic following an accident 10 years ago crushing my spinal cord.
The greatly reduced physical activity is really the main reason that I have gained weight.
It's funny that I have come to terms with being in a wheelchair but have never come to terms with getting fat!
I'm finding induction really easy and following it in a very disciplined way and I have to say I'm feeling fantastic.
I do not know if or how much weight I have lost thus far as I cannot jump on conventional scales for obvious reasons and will wait until I go visit my doctors.
To see if I was going in the right direction, yesterday I tested my urine in with a ketostix .
I had hoped to be greatly encouraged by its positive indication of fat burning with a nice purple indicator on the stick.
Unfortunately it was a very pink colour highlighting only the second phase.
Now I know what it feels like to be a woman with a pregnancy test kit praying for a result either way!
Should I be worried with this result? are the sticks very accurate?
I am so determined that this is going to work I refused to be deterred.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and look forward to sharing my progress with you in the future.
Cheers
Sean
