    Hello all,

I'm Ammie from London UK and I've finally decided to try the Atkins diet after putting it off for ages.

I was on a low fat diet using Xenical Orlistat tablets but the weight loss on that was so slow I was losing the will to live and I really didn't want to keep taking the tablets.

After doing much research I think Atkins is for me. I have a lot of weight to lose and if I don't so something about it now I never will.

So today I'm going to do a big shop and get all the required foods for my induction. I've looked for ideas online and I'm quite excited to join this forum as it seems very friendly and supportive which is something I need.

Looking forward to getting to know you all and offer my support in return.

I think you've made a great choice with Atkins Ammie. I've tried the low fat thing like most people and it just doesn't deliver the results I wanted. All these foods are so modified that they are really high in carbs often as a result.

I hope you'll stick with it and achieve your goals. I live in Cambridge, UK by the way.
