Hello,
I just found this Board and am hoping to get some support for staying on the Atkins Diet. I was first introduced to the diet in 2000 when my weight suddently began ballooning. My hypoglycemia, a minor problem in that I occasionally experienced severe drops in blood sugar, became a major problem. I got no warning of the drops in blood sugar, was gaining weight, and my blood sugar levels were warning me that I was now truly a diabetic.
My family doctor recommended Dr Bernstein's book and I quickly lost about 40 pounds, and my diabetes was no longer detectible.
Last year I married someone with Type 2 diabetes whose doctor does not recommend low carb, so the challenge is on to serve low fat meals to him that are also low carb.
