    Hi, everyone,

I started a self-designed low calorie/low carb diet January 2. The first week went well and I lost 6 pounds. The second week my hunger increased, and then it exploded and I ate over 3500 calories in one day.

Amazingly, I still managed to lose one pound the second week, but the hunger was very strong, and I knew I wasn't going to last long on a diet unless I could find a way to control my hunger.

I remembered Atkins from the 70's. It worked for me then, although back then it didn't allow enough vegetables and I couldn't stay on it.

I started reading low carb forums and discovered that now on Atkins you can have vegetables (an increasing amount as you go along). And I knew the Atkins diet controlled blood sugar and hunger. So I decided to switch to it.

I have my book on order... it should be here this week. In the meantime, I am learning as much as I can online.

I've watched all the videos made by tuwulf on utube. And I signed up for a couple of other low-carb forums. But I like the feel of this one. It seems more focused on Atkins only, and it seems as though most of the posters here are very serious about making this program work for them.

I've made a few mistakes on Induction based on faulty information I've gathered from the web pending the arrival of my book. But now that I have found this site I am confident that I can do this!

Thanks to all of you for this wonderful resource.

Thanks for the warm welcome, Kristine.

I've already read your links, but will go back and make sure I didn't miss anything.... also I'm sure I have forgotten some of it already!

I had a good day today. Felt so good I got a haircut. I've promised myself I'll dye my hair again when I've lost 15 pounds!

Already I am feeling like a new person.
