Hi all,
I've been doing low carb for exactly two weeks now and just came across this site, it's a great site and full of everything you'd ever need - superb!
I thought I'd let you know how I'm doing.
Firstly, lovin' the food
I like to cook so finding and cooking recipes is great too.
I'm 5'5"
I started off at 179.4lbs and two weeks later weigh 165.4lbs.
I'm delighted at my progress so far.
My chest measurements have dropped from 106cm to 99cm
My waist from 102cm to 96cm
Body fat from 27.1 to 25.8
BMI from 29.4 to 27.5.
I can't believe the difference already
Along with the low carb lifestyle I do a thing called Tabata Protocol 3 times a week. A friend of mine introduced me to it.
Basically it involves doing 16 minutes of high intensity exercise, as hard as you can along the pattern of 20 seconds on 10 seconds off until you reach 16 minutes total.
I normally do skipping or a combination of skipping, sqauts, spot sprinting and skipping again in sets of 4 minutes each (4x4minutes=16).
The key is not to stop once you've started including if you're using different exercises and only take 10 second breaks during the exercise. Oh and you must go as hard as you can while performing the exercise correctly
.
It ain't easy but it is effective and it's easy to fit into a day if you're stuck for time. I normally follow it up with 60 ab crunches, 75 russian curls with no weights and 45 elevated leg raises (hips off the floor).
Anyway I'm glad I found this site and plan to visit often on my quest to get to 146lbs
