Hello everyone!
Just thought I'd stop in here and introduce myself. I've spent most the afternoon browsing these forums, and I'm excited to join such a supportive community! It's really nice to see so many people with a common goal, and the success stories are so uplifting
.
Anyway, my name is Cassi, and I'm 22 years old. I've been overweight most of my life, but I've become pretty good at ignoring it. I've done a few diets over the years, but never really stuck to anything.
I've been married for two years now, and we're starting to think about children. I've always known my weight was going to be a problem in that department, but I've always managed to push it off, rationalizing that I didn't want kids this year anyway, and so on. Well, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and that really was a wake-up call, especially when I realized that even without the weight, having children might still be a problem. And with the weight... well, every extra pound worsens the PCOS.
So! I've decided it's now or never. I started changing my life and eating habits a few days before New Years, and I've stuck with it. We bought a Wii Fit (which I love, btw) and I started walking. A little over a week ago, I started the Atkins diet--which worked very well for me before, I just never stuck to it-- and I've lost 10 lbs. Yay!
Thanks for listening to me! I can't wait to meet some new people
