  • Another Newbie

Hi all, my name is Matthew. I started back on the Atkins diet; after a year off due to a broken ankle, on the 13th of January and have lost 14 pounds in the first week! Currently I am experiencing a little stall but I contribute that to muscle gain in the gym or the few Jack and Diet Cokes I had this past weekend.... I've now cut out the Jack and have said my goodbyes for a short time at least. I am working out at the gym at least 5 times a week for 1-3 hours focusing on diffrent muscles each day and cardio 3 times a week. I look forward to speaking with all of you as I have been constantly reading threads of this site this past week and have many many questions ranging from supplements to allowed drinks.

    Thanks again for having me!

Welcome Matt! I had my son Matthew in Houston, TX 11/82. My son (Matthew) is a Jack lover too and must give up the juice to keep his family together. You seem to work out a LOT. Geez I would die...LOL Good luck and remember Muscle burns Fat, but weighs more, so you may not be loosing weight but you are loosing fat and inches. Good Luck and try to keep things in moderation so you can keep up!!

I would suggest getting the Atkins book and reading it Matthew. It lists supplements, etc. Good luck - you are already ahead of the game with your work outs!

I've read the book, about 5 times in fact. However, I find in my reasearch that some of the supplements Dr. Atkins recomends just dont work or are dangerous. I also am curious about new supplements on the shelfs. GNC has 1000's alone.

        Thanks for the welcome though
