My advise is to measure yourself as we have times when the pounds seem to stick but the inches go.
Read every label on everything you eat just to make sure it doesn't have carbs by the ton,

Get a journal. Throw away all the crap in the fridge and cupboards.(if you can , I have kids and they love their cookies and whatnots)
The first 2-4 days are kind of tough, but if you are committed you will succeed.
After the first 48 hours I was in ketosis. I bought the pee strips and they keep me motivated. I love the color purple! LOL!
