  • New from Oregon

    Hi All,

I followed Atkins 5 years ago or so and really liked the way I felt, the pounds melted away and I looked so much better. Then I discovered ice cream and would have a bowl after dinner. It started stalling me, had sugar cravings , vacation slip-ups, birthday slip-ups, family health issues.........I fell off the wagon and returned to my ways.

I don't have a whole lot to lose. I'll be 50 in June so would really like to be healthier and slimmer. I started Jan 1,2009 at 146lbs and currently at 141.2 (gosh can't even say 5lbs). I'm 5'2" and don't really know where I want to end up. I'm saying 120 for now.

I followed the 14 days pretty good. I'm not good at counting carbs but I do watch vegis, cheese, and lunch meats, so I'm pretty sure I went over by just a few on a few occasions. I love roasted vegis and had more than my allowed serving. So not really a cheat just exceeded 20 carbs. I'm staying pretty close to induction levels but occasionally will have 15 -20 almonds or maybe a few more vegis. I'm losing much slower than last time which so I welcome any encouragement to hang in there. I am drinking water but not enough, that's a hard one for me. I did measure this time around and am very glad I did. I am losing even if the scales don't say it!

Thanks in advance for all your support, it's easier when you know you're not alone!

    Welcome to the board!

I would suggest you wait until the right rung to introduce nuts, but at the end of the day everybody does what works for them. Good luck!

Welcome Tambo. I'm a neighbor, living in Washington.
      Are you exercising?

I haven't started exercising and I have a great recumbant bike and numerous dvds so no excuse. Just gotta do it.
