  • Hello folks!

    Hello people,

I'm new here, and only discovered this site last night through a Google search.

Anyways, let me tell you a bit about myself:

I decided to go on a permanent lower-carb eating plan a few months ago, and have had absolutely no difficulty switching to the way I'm currently eating. To keep my carb-level low, I've had to make some sacrifices. Some of my sacrifices included me not drinking the jug of juice I'd drink everyday, me adding the two table-spoons of sugar I'd add to each cup of coffee everyday (usually five cups), and me avoiding eating the four large bowls of cereal I'd eat in a day. For the first week or two, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to avoid doing these things, but after only a few days I was already used to my new eating habits.

I've been getting half an hour of exercise nearly every morning an hour after eating breakfast. My daily carb intake has been around 100 grams max, and my calorie intake for the past few months has been 1800 per day, but since I'm impatient, I will put it down to 1600. I'll be losing weight at around two pounds a week since I'm lowering my calorie intake, but this is the lowest I will drop my calorie intake. I'm eating five meals a day, all in the same portions. The only carbs I'm getting are from vegetables, and from the small amounts of grain products I eat in the morning. The only time I'm consuming high-carb foods is in the morning, and I'm still trying my best to avoid having anything with more than 30 carbs in it at once. It's very seldom that I eat high-carb foods late in the day.

I'm eating a sensible mix of fish, white meat, cheese, vegetables, nuts and eating grain products earlier in the day, and in moderation.

I'm five feet, eleven inches and my weight is currently at around 200 pounds. My goal weight is anywhere from 135 to 150 pounds. I've been losing weight like mad.

Anyways, tell me how you think I'm going about this, and hello!

    Re: Hello folks!

    Hallo to you too.
You are not following the Atkins diet. On Atkins we cut carbs to 20 for the first two weeks and they have to only come from veggies (a bit from cheese, eggs and cream maybe). And then gradually we build up.
You are low carbing and eating healthy it sounds like. Glad that it is working for you.
