Re: hi... first time in atkins

I figured I might as well introduce myself under this same thread since it also applies to me. Name is Jon. I'm 29 and need to lose. Atkins seems like the best program and I'm on day 4 of induction. Unfortunately, I've gained 3 pounds while following the program perfectly, so I'm a little perplexed but not put off. I'm going to just trust the program... My goal is to lose 90 when it's all said and done (back to my college baseball playing weight), but my short term goal is to just lose 50 of it. Currently weighing in at 319 (actually 322 after gaining 3 pounds), I'm 6'3 and large framed...most guess my weight (by looking at me) at around 270. Since 270 is my short term goal I'm hoping people then guess me to be 230, which is my ultimate goal.
To sweeten the pot, and my motivation, I'm enrolled in a biggest loser competition at work with $400 on the line. Any advice from the veterans around here would be greatly appreciated. I have 7 1/2 weeks left to lose the highest percentage of weight...

          So anyway, hello all!

Re: hi... first time in atkins

I suggest posting you menu in the menu review forum so perhaps we can figure out what happened with those 3 pounds. List everything you eat and drink in details.
And welcome to the forum Jon.

                Welcome to you too Jon!
I agree with Liv... you can always try posting your menu in the Review your Menu forum. It could be that just a little something needs tweaking to get you losing.

                    Tawsif, sounds great!
Induction is going pretty well. Tomorrow I'll be one week down and so far I'm between 5 and 7 pounds down (haven't checked since yesterday) and feeling good. No hunger problems, lots of good foods around. I'm enjoying myself so far.
                    How about you?
