  • New here - Intro

    Hey everyone, I have been debating whether or not to do Atkins again. I've done it in the past with great results but I went overboard and limited my calories to <800/day, plus I was working out 2 hrs. a day and I eventually crashed. Stupidity. That was a few years ago and since then I've gained it all back plus 35 extra lbs. (Sigh). So I've been reading alot of the success stories and I've decided to give it a try again ( the right way). I'm sure I will be posting alot with my struggles and successes, it is very helpful for me to get advice from others and you all seem so knowledgable on this topic. I plan on starting tomorrow, I'm a total processed food carb addict so I know that I will feel LOUSY for a few days! I will lwt you all know how it goes.

    I wasn't able to figure out how to get one of those cool clickers yet, so I'll tell you , I weigh 166.5lbs and my goal by June 2009 is 115lbs.

    hioya!! welcome!!!
    i've done atkins previously too then foolishly gave into cravings and gone back too sqaure one!! this has been my most successful time so far i am in my 5th week!! and thankfully carb cravings have more or less gone.

      Welcome back to Atkins LDE, and to the ADBB! Nice to have you with us.
      I'm sure you'll do really well this time and, if as you wisely say, you follow the plan to the letter, you'll stand a far better chance of the results being permanent.
      Think direction rather than speed and enjoy the wonderful foods you can eat.

      If you need help, there's always someone around to give advice or tips, so don't be shy in asking.
      Here's hoping you don't feel too lousy those first few days.
