    Induction in California

Hello...I found this site while searching for Atkins approved recipes. I am on day 2 of the induction phase. Today was much harder then yesterday...I find myself REALLY hungry today.

I look forward to any tips you might offer and any support you might lend.

    Welcome to the board!

The first few days are pretty rough in terms of hunger, as your body is switching from burning sugar for energy to burning fat. Don't worry about calories and eat if you are hungry. Foods high in fat and protein are excellent for keeping hunger away. Never let yourself be hungry on Atkins! If your body is asking for food, it probably needs it... just make sure you give it some "legal" food.

    Happy Atkins-ing!

Oh, and read the book (DANDR 2002)... there are also many tips on the board... just surf around.

Hi, my 2nd day was the WORST headache ever, but I got over it when I saw the numbers on the scale going down...must have been lack of caffeine/carbs.

HI there and welcome. My major tip is to start a journal in journal chats. It helps keep me accountable, plus I can post major changes, my menus, progress and success. Keep up the good work. The first three days of induction are the hardest for me. You are well on your way. Keep up the good work.
