i want to start doing some sit ups...seems there is controversy about the type and or the effectiveness...currently doing around 5 miles a day on elliptical...thinking i need some other types of exercise...anyone got any suggestions?...thanks for reading...your all great.

The problem with sit up is that people use the wrong muscles when they do them and they may be hard on your back.
So what is you want to achieve? You want to do some abs exercises. Crunches are pretty good. You can do normal crunches, reverse crunches, obliques, bicycles.

There are very many other work-out things on the internet suggesting things to do. Do some searches for abs exercises and you'll see what I mean.

Sit-up's good. i do sit-up everyday and it's quite effective. other than that you can try swimming, and jogging.
It just keep going down and up, down and up *SLAP* wake up!!!
