  • Hello!!

Hi, My name is Shawn and my Wife is Nicole - We started Atkins 1/20/2009 part of our new year deal to get rid of the fat. So far I have lost 19 pounds. My wife has lost 12 pounds. We have come a long way and its just the beginning. I went from 267 to 248 and my wife - well I don't know if she wants me to tell lol. But I here is what have been doing. Scrambled eggs for the morning - if I'm not in a hurry I will fry them with some uncured bacon and sausage without sugars added then for lunch a salad mainly, 2 cups with ranch dressing and light cheese most times with some sort of meet, a burger patty or something like then for supper we try so many different things as far as fish and shell fish, roasts, steaks salmon patties without the crackers (little mushy till cooked but great) and pork back ribs with a hefty layer of no carb seasonings. *** Our snacks have been splitting a can of sprite zero, jello brand jello sugar free of course, and my personal fav so far!! I take heavy cream and I add 2 teaspoons of splenda and put it in my Kitchen Aid blender and whip on a fairly high setting until it's thicken (I do this while the cream is chilled pretty cold) then I dip some of this no carb wonder into a bowl then dabble it with Hearsey's sugar free splenda sweetened no sugar or aspartame chocolate syrup and i mix it up and its almost like a great eclair thing sooo good. It makes me feel like I'm cheating but I still lose weight! Oh and Pork Rhine's!! Gota love them!

    Re: Hello!!

Welcome nic and shawn. Glad to hear that it is going well. Looks like you guys have figured out what to do. Be a bit careful with light cheese as it will be far more carby than normal cheese.
Don't know if you guys have discovered it yet but this is a good place to find more recipes

      Re: Hello!!

Fast way to cook bacon is to lay the strips on a paper towel, cover with a paper towel and put them on a dinner plate. Nuke them 1 minute per strip and its good, crunchy, non greasy bacon.

Welcome, while I think you should be limiting your sweets and cream, its certainly working for you so enjoy.
