Hi! My name is Tanya, I'm 33 yo SAHM to a 15 yo and a 4 yo. I want to start induction tomorrow, but I will be leaving the country for a 6 day vacation next Friday. I know that it's important to know your pounds lost during induction when you get ready for maintenence, so would it be okay to start now, even though I know I would NOT be sticking to the plan completely while I'm gone?

Re: Intro and question>>
hmm.. I'm new to this so you may get a better answer from someone else.
but- it seems to me that there would be no harm in starting to eat low carb, cutting out sugars, etc... but I wouldn't count it as your induction-- if you can't do it 100% that is.
But you could start getting used to low carbing and then go on your full 2 week (at least) induction when you get home from your trip?
Thoughts anyone?

Aimnbuster is right.
If you are not eating according to the induction rules during those six days, you are not doing induction.
And btw, welcome to the board!

Yes, I agree. Just wait till you get back from vacation, and start during a two week period where you have no parties, events, or anything that you think you might stray away from induction. It sounds a little strick, but you need to give your body a full 14 days to rid toxins, and start the ketotic process.Shannon in NJ

THis is the perfect time for you to start. As opposed to coming back from vacation 10 pounds heavier (which is likely for most people) you can be 10 pounds lighter. It could be a 20 pound swing. I started before the holidays for that very reason. THink of how proud of yourself you will be. Just food for thought. Have fun on vacation!
