Re: I am fat.
Thanks! I actually just finished the original 1972 "Dr. Atkins Diet Revolution" and have already reserved one of my school's copies of the 2002 version. I thought it would be interesting to read and see the changes Dr. Atkins made in theory and plan.Originally posted by OzLover View PostWelcome to ADBB chasenwilliam. Thanks! Yeah, low fat/low calorie diets only worked so much for me. I lost a good amount of weight pretty quickly on it, but then stalled out for 1.5-2 months, no matter what I tried. I already feel like I am slimming down some, and my clothes, which were uncomfortable and a little tight, seem to be fitting more loosely.Originally posted by Desertthorn View PostWelcome, I hate low fat diets cause I never get enough to eat. You did an amazing job on it but I think you'll like Atkins better. Who could hate a diet that lets you eat bacon.19/Male/Texas

Re: I am fat.
William, that's one of the things that fascinated me.... seeing how his diet evolved as new information became available and as his practice matured. Thanks! The new version is MUCH better. It truly is one that you can live happily on for life. I couldn't handle the old one very long back in the 70's when I first tried it.
Welcome! It sounds like you have the attitude and commitment to make this work!

Re: I am fat.
Welcome! Glad you are here and ready to change your WOL and WOE. There is a wealth of information and support here to help you on your way. Great that you are going to read the new book from your school, but keep a look out for your own copy of the 2002 book. They can usually be found in a second hand book store quite easily and for an unbeatable price! Then you always have it available as a reference for knowledge and reinforcement. Look forward to hearing about your future success!

Re: I am fat.
Welcome to Atkins and
! It sounds like you are off to a great start! Keep it up. Atkins is so much more enjoyable than a low-calorie or low-fat diet. Please read the book. Follow the rules of Induction. When you decide to move up the rungs of OWL (ongoing weight loss). Definitely exercise!
This way of eating and way of life is one of the best things that I've ever done for myself. There are a lot of times I heat up my breakfast or lunch at work and everyone marvels about how good it smells and a lot of people are surprised that I can eat *that* and lose weight. Society is so fat-phobic that they can't imagine eating a low-carb/high-fat diet. I love every bite of it!
Good luck!

just keep telling yourself that you can do it, that you're worth it... There's nothing we can't figure out together, long as we just keep trying.
