Hi. My name is Stephanie. I am 20 years old and at 5'6 I probably should not be weighing in at 190 on a good day. I have been trying since I was 13 to lose weight, and the only thing that has worked thus far has been sticking my finger down my throat. Which I am not a fan of doing and have thus stopped. I am into day 2, and I dont think I am doing this right. I live at home with my parents, my mom babysits, and therefore there is an adundance of food around that I should not be eating. I need some advice, tips, anything to help me do this. Please, I dont want to be 190lbs. My goal is 150 by June of this year. Anything to help me out would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks!!!

Re: Brand new; Need help; I HATE BEING FAT!!
You have figure out exactly what you can eat and only stick to those food items. That is the key. You have to drink plenty of water and take supplements.
Did you read the book, Dr.Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) 2002. It is the one we follow here? What you need to know and do is all in there.

So glad you stopped purging. Nothing good can come out of that. Looks would never be worth the health and metal issues you would develop.

Welcome, spolice!
So glad you stopped purging. That's such a painful, destructive cycle.
If you follow Atkins faithfully, as written, you will soon see your cravings controlled and the weight should drop off steadily.
Best of luck to you!

Glad you found us. Best advise is to read the book, once or twice so you see how and why it works, then check labels, everything that goes in your mouth you need to check for carbs and ingredients.
Avoid most white things, flour, potatoes, rice, noodles, sugar.
Eat fatty things, bacon, avocadoes, steak,
Eat veggies, 2 -3 cups every day
Drink water, lots and lots of water.
Exercise, weight lifting and cardio
