    Once again, hello!

    I am currently on the Atkins diet, induction phase. I am hovering somewhere around 209/208lbs. on my home scale.

    I've been heavy most of my life, starting as a child. When I was around the age of 11/12, my mother helped me to start the Atkins diet. It worked! I went from a heavy, unhappy preteen, to a healthy, happy preteen!

    This was the norm, until pregnancy. I gained an enormous amount of weight while pregnant, and my weight has continued to rise, years later.

    I have been up in the 200's for at least 3, or 4 years, now.

    I joined a local gym in January of this year, and realized that exercise alone wasn't doing much for me.

    So, this is now...

    209/208lbs. ( Home scale. ) Will have a more accurate weight after I get home from the gym, tonight.
    Gym - Treadmill for an hour, weights for arms & legs

    Before Valentine's Day weekend, I had only 7 pounds to lose on the gym's electronic scale before I was under 200. Of course, during the weekend, I really let go, thinking it wouldn't have that much of an effect. Guess what?! It did.

    Now, mad at myself, I'm determined to not take any "breaks." No more pigging out on the weekends, no more skipping the gym.

    I can't believe how much I am paying for that one weekend.

    So, that's me. I would love to post some pictures, at some point, too.

        Lover, welcome to the board!

        It sounds like you have your priorities in order and are on your way to a thinner, healthier lifestyle!

        If you ever feel the need to binge, just stick to legal Atkins foods and the damage will be minimal.

        Also, try some of the legal desserts. They can go a long way toward keeping you on track while your body adjusts to this way of eating and your appetite stabilizes.

        Don't skimp on your veggies and drink LOTS of water!

          LOL, yes, you do!

          Valentine's Day weekend was terrible; Chinese, pizza, burgers, snacks!

          When I went to the gym the following Monday, I almost cried, my legs hurt the whole time I walked on the treadmill! Just from ONE weekend of cheating! NEVER AGAIN!

            Welcome to the board, Lover! You have the right attitude so it shouldn't be too hard for you to master Atkins and keep your motivation. Once you get to that 'high' we all experience, it will all be worth it. Just keep the faith!

              Thanks, again!

              Just got back from the gym; 1 hour on the treadmill at 3.0, 3.3 for about ten minutes, at the end.

              Also, some legs & arm exercises on the weight machines.

              Found out from the digital gym scale that I'm actually 213, not 209 like my home scale says. Ah, well.

              Feelin' pretty damn good, anyways!
