  • Hi, I'm Kevin, and I'm a carb-a-haulic....

Hello everyone! Tonight is my last night of feasting on carb's like I have been raised to enjoy and over consume. Tomorrow I am going to begin, for the first time, the Atkins Low Carb/No Carb diet.

This will be tough, but with my new found glory having been laid off recently from the shop I worked at due to a lack of work with an unknown return date, I am going to use my time in-between job hunting to get back in to shape.

I'm also getting married in 2010 to TAGuysWifey who also signed up..... I'm looking forward to getting back in to the shape I was in in high school which was only 5-6 years ago when I worked out 5 days a week...

I'll see you all around the forum! Tomorrow is D-Day...

Oh, and TAGuy... Yeah, not what you all think... It's for Trans Am, my toy car.. Not, uhh... The other T&A..

Welcome, TAGuy. The two of you doing this together should provide a lot of built-in support.

Be sure to check out the recipe section so you have lots of good-tasting, satisfying food choices. Just plain meat and cheese and salad can get old quick!

      Re: Hi, I'm Kevin, and I'm a carb-a-haulic....

Thanks. We're starting this off right. I woke up at 6:30am and cooked the wifey the last 2 eggs in the fridge (Note to self: Go shopping today)... For myself I had 5 pieces of sausage for a total of 3g of carbs...

For lunch I packed her a bag of sliced turkey meat and cheese.... I think I put something else in there but I forget what...

I'm about to head to the gym, I figure I had might as well use the last few days of my membership to jump start my metabolism. For lunch I will either make a salad with turkey and cheese.. Also, I must figure out what to cook for dinner... hmmmm...

Sounds good so far... but please add your veggies!!!! You really need them to make this program work.

And don't forget a MINIMUM of 64 oz. of water a day. That is critical to stay hydrated and flush out metabolic wastes.

I'm looking forward to seeing your progress as a couple!

For veggies right now I am having a lettuce and turkey salad with a little bit of ranch dressing for a little flavor (Ken's.... 0 carb's per serving of 1tbsp...) and a tiny bit of bacon. I wish i had some cherry tomatoes, are they OK from the beginning or no???

I'm a carboholic too....or was anyway. If you can get through the induction weeks, you'll be find. i don't even crave them anymore. I used to love Italian food and pasta, but the thought almost turns my stomach now. Good thing you are doing this with your fiance. I started this with my husband in January. I could never do it on my own....well maybe now, but not in the beginning for sure. Chin up! It's an awesome journey.
