Hi all,
I'm Oopie, from Wellington New Zealand. I've been low-carbing for about 6 months.
Starting weight was 103kgs, currently at 72kgs, goal weight 62kgs.
I'm interested in the OWL rungs, I haven't come across rungs before, so will be reading up on that.
My biggest challenge at the moment is eating enough daily to prevent plateau and hitting the wall at the gym. I have a personal trainer and a tailored program, and am supossed to eat SIX times a day. Perhaps with insulin spiking carb loading rubbish that may be possible, but eating good healthy protein, veggies and satisfying fat, there's no way I can acheive this, so 3-4 times a day seems to be the best I can stretch to. My ongoing battle. I've been doing well for the past couple of days, but back to uni next week and busy again - well we'll see.
The main part of my diet is dairy, veggies meat, chicken and fish. With nuts, seeds and lately flax, as wraps, usually 1/2 to 1 wrap a day.
I've lost so much weight that people I've known for years, but haven't seen for a while don't recognise me - it's bizzare, but pretty cool.
I'd love to share before and after pictures, but I was extremely camera shy (ashamed really of recording myself), that there aren't many photos of me. I will have a dig around, I know there have been some determined camera snappy people.
Although not a newbie to low-carbing, I'm always keen to learn more.
I'm looking for low-carb vegetarian recipes and information for my Mum, I'll start a thread in recipes, so if you have any, please post them over there.
I look forward to chatting with the people here.
Regards,
Oopie
