  • Here weee go! :-)

    Hi ya!

I'm kgirl..or Karen if you please .I have just found this forum and figured i would give it a join!

I have struggled with weight for many moons now..and have tried many things to help myself improve. But, alas..something takes over..(hellooooooo cupcakes!)..I had tried Atkins before and found it very diffucult at first..that is when I discovered just how much carbs plagued me. So, I am trying it again..and this time am hopeful I will be more sucessful.

I am always open to chatting with others,to share ideas, encouragments..and sometimes just a shoulder of understanding.

I will leave this as is...I can be go on at times

nice to be here....and I am looking forward to geting to know this place and you better.

Welcome to the board Karen! The best way to avoid temptation is to rid your house of the 'frankenfoods', you know, the carbs, and keep lots of legal foods on hand. Cheese, pepperoni, olives, eggs, and cooked meat that you can grab when hunger strikes will help you make it through the day. Good luck!

            Re: Here weee go!

Alright, this is my first time on a bulletin board of any kind but I need to lose some serious weight! I did a variation of the Atkins diet when I was 20 years old and lost 55 lbs (I was down to 195lbs & keep in mind I'm like 6'0 and have a generally large frame)...

Fast foward like 7 years, I have ballooned back up to 248 lbs. I work out like 3-4-5 days a week pretty hard. Mostly weights and pliometrics, it's very rare for me to do any cardio. I eat like a god damned animal for some reason. Not necessarilly the worst foods in the world (Doritos, Yodels & Milkshakes), but sometimes I kill a pint of ice cream in one sitting, etc...

The thing that's interesting about the Atkins diet is that it doesn't really restrict your calorie count too badly, as I understand it. I cook for myself all the time, but I also drink a lot of coffee (2 cups / day.. cream/no sugar) etc...

Anyway, I guess what I am looking for is a method for all the madness. My goal is probably going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 210 lbs. If anyone has any experience on this website or with this diet, I would like to hear from you.

I feel generally depressed that I've had so much trouble losing my spare tire. It needs to go and the time is now!

Alrighty, I'm looking foward to hearing from any of you..

            Thanks in advance,

            Kdiggs1981
