  • Need of iphase friend!!!

    Hello all,

    My goal is to lose 37 pounds by May and I am currently starting the induction phase of the Atkins diet! (SATURDAY - tomorrow) I am at 142 pounds and my ideal weight would be 105. I also go to the gym regularly, but will try to go every day (morning - cardio + small weights)

    Let me know if you want to join me for the journey! The summer is about to START, we can do it and look and feel great!!!!

    Hi TS,

    Welcome to the board!

    One comment about your exercise routine... Is there any reason why you are using light weights, something like an injury or disability? Because if there is none, you should not avoid lifting heavy ones. Contrary to popular belief, heavy weights not only will not make you bulky, but will actually be more efficient in accelerating your weight loss and making you look good nakid. Here is an article that explains it:
    Part 1 -- Strength without size: How to get stronger without getting bulky :: stumptuous.com
    Part 2 -- Strength without size 2: The thickening :: stumptuous.com

    As for training daily, rest days are just as important as workout days. Your muscles need time to recover. This part is also explained in the article I linked, so I'm not going to write a novel myself. :P

    Good luck with induction!

        Georgiana and DesertThorn, thank you very much for the support! I am officially starting induction today and hoping for the best I wish you all the best, lots of courage and determination as well!

        Georgiana, as for the exercise routine, I wrote light weights talking about the exercises I do for my arms, which are not as strong as my legs. I do a lot of machines and weighs for my legs which are very strong (100 lbs) and lesser weighs for my arms...thank you for the article!!! It's very interesting and makes a lot of sense...After all, us women are often scared of using bigger weights in fear of adding bulk and not having lean, long muscles...!! I am also planning on trying Bikram yoga!!

        Best of luck to you both and update me on your progress!!!
