  • Hello & thanks for having me...

    My name is Danielle.
This is my second go at Atkins, although it has been over 4 years since my last try. I am on day 5 of induction, and was surprised this time I lost my sugar cravings so quickly... by day 3 I didn't NEED to have sugar! That was a big success for ma, as it took MUCH longer last time.

My big opportunity right now is my energy level... which is low, low, low.
I will be checking out the boards for suggestions on that, and will take any advice I can get!

I am (finally) a stay-at-home mom (as of last July) with two darling boys, A.J. age 3&3/4 and T.F. age 3 this month. My little guys are 9 months apart (long story) and have about a million times more energy then I do, even on my best day! I am partly trying to loose my weight for them, as I want to be the best mommy in the world, partly for me, and partly for my husband, who married a really different looking gal. I am fortunate that my husband loves me any way, but I know we both would be happier if I looked and FELT better!

Prior to staying at home with the boys, I was a store manager for Starbucks Coffee for 15 years, so lowering my caffeine intake has also been a bit of a challenge, but I am adapting to my half-caf and will make the jump to decaf soon!

My first 5 days have lost me 4lbs, so I think I am off to a good start.

Thanks for letting me join this great supportive environment.

    Cheers!
    Danielle

Danielle, so glad you joined us.

It's GREAT that your sugar cravings are already under control. That's a pretty good indication that you're doing your induction right.

The great thing about your boys being so close in age is that they will probably also be closer emotionally as they grow.

Good luck on the caffeine reduction! That does sound like a challenge!!!

It looks to me like you have a winning attitude, and I look forward to watching your progress!

Welcome Danielle -- I'm glad you found the board and joined. This is a wonderful place for all of us to come and help each other. I hope you have the DANDR book and have read it...it's essential to doing the program right.

It sounds like you have your hands full with your little ones but in a few days you'll have enough energy to keep up with them. Also congrats on being a stay-at-home mom!! We made the switch from full lead to decaf coffee 3 years ago when my husband had emergency triple bypass...we didn't get to step down - it was decaf or nothing! Now I can't stand regular coffee.

Post often, ask questions, offer a helping word or answer someone else's question....the more you use this site the more it will help you! Join some challenges if you have time...there are all kinds to get your active with others here.

Good luck with your journey -- enjoy your time with your children while they are young!

Welcome to the board, Danielle! This is the best place in the world for encouragement and support so jump right in! I'm sure you will do well.

And your new eating habits will help your boys learn the right way to eat healthy so they will won't ever have to worry about weight problems later on. Teach them early on that sugar and flour are poisons to our systems!

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
