To make a long story short, I went from being a well conditioned athlete to a well conditioned sweet eater. From 211 lbs of Division I athlete to 291 lbs of lazy!
Some health restrictions contributed to my weight gain, and I blew up all the weigh to whopping 291. I'm 5'11" and am adjusting to being insecure about my weight. I dropped about 24 lbs by eating less and doing more exercise, and then I thought to give Atkins a shot.
When I found out about Atkins, I was a skeptic. Carb depletion restricts the brain of the fuel it needs... all that fat and protein is bad for the heart... I just wasn't feeling it. But I needed an answer and picked up the book. I read it, and thought it was worth a shot.
I recently found this board, and I am in my seventh day of induction, already dropping 11 lbs. Only one hickup against me at this time too; forced to work a double and had to eat 8 cashews at the 6 hour since my hamburger pattie!
Trying to shake the Powerade Zero's, but they keep me from grabbing worse things from the fridge when I'm hungry or craving something. Water, all 72 oz a day, doesn't do the trick as of yet.
Hopefully, I can tough this out!
