    Hi,

I've been lurking on this bulletin board for a few weeks, trying to decide whether to join, which I might never have done, since it's not really "in character" for me. However, the other day I happened upon the Recipe Request section, and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to share the great recipes I've been discovering which have made the last four weeks a surprisingly fun and easy ride for me.

This is technically the second time I've done Atkins-- the first was around 1972 when the first book came out and my mother put us all on it. I was in junior high. We were never outrageously overweight, but we were always made to feel that we were. Anyway, I'd like to exorcise those demons, so I'm "seeking the Susan" I never got to then. I think I can do it now. I'm not sure if 125 is realistic, so I'll aim first for 135 and see if I like what I see.

I'm overwhelmed by the kindness and commitment of the members of this bulletin board. My heart goes out to all of you, and I wish you a happy ending to your stories. I hope I can help in some small way.

welcome to the board Bet you have seen lots of cahnanges in Atkins since the original plan came out in 72 like the mandatory exercise and the 3 cups of veggies for induction.

      Happy low carbing.

Hi Susan. Welcome to our family. We all started out as lurkers, but I agree, the motivation and support here in the site is fantastic. I'm sure you'll be successful - we all start with the anticipation of wondering if it will work, and soon find out if we read the book, do exercise, drink water and take our supplements...soon the weight and inches melt away.

I look forward to hearing of your success in future posts. Best Wishes!!

              Hello Susan :wave
It's great that you have de-lurked and come out to play with us :joy

And thank you for contributing your recipes too - what were they?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!
