  • With my tail between my legs I am back....

I know this is the right way of eating for me, I know it will make me lose weight, I know I will gain more and more weight if I don't change my ways but I still have been eating like a savage! I keep telling the wife ok - we have to start this weekend, or start tomorrow....ugh - I am sad but nonetheless, I am here and ready to make the change (again)...I do 100% of the cooking in the house so if I am eating terrible so is my wife! That is so not fair! I love cooking and I love eating and cooking low carb....

    what's my problem??!?!?

The problem is that carbs are addictive.

          Welcome magicmarq,

It will be rough the first few days, you must hang in there and the cravings
will go away... I hear ya, I had pizza, steak and cheese subs on white bread.

My breakfast was 2 grilled cheese with white bread.

Now after 3 weeks, no desire at all. but really the craving went away
          the first week.

So get motivated, come to the site often for support and clear your home
of non Atkins food and enjoy the ride !

Come to STAC roll call this morning and help me out. I need another guy there, the ladies have us way out numbered. But they're nice people too. You belong there as a retread anyway.

                I hear ya...

                I noticed you are 36. I'm 48... soon to be 49.

The first time I tried Atkins and it worked for me was when I was 38. I lost 70 lbs. By the 5th month of eating this way and working out... it was habit and quite honestly... I forgot what I was missing and was relishing in feeling better ... (Asthma nearly disappeared... and muscle aches too) and all of the comments on how great I was looking.

13 years... almost 14 years later.... I'm asking the same question. Why do we stop something that we know works?

Anyhow... to my main point. IF you can figure that out now... while you are 36 and you can do the next best thing... I can almost guarantee that your life will be more fulfilling. Looking back if I could do these last 10/11 years over again... I would have paid more attention and stayed on course... as I was so ashamed of gaining it all back again that I ended up hiding... and thus not living life to its fullest. On top of that... I started getting my asthma back... and all the aches and pains... plus more.

So do yourself a favor and decide today... that you WILL do this and this is what you need to do to live a full and active life!

                Good luck to you!

This is my second time on the diet and once I got focus and committed to the plan again, I can tell you I feel so much better. And you will too! I just got lazy and I hate to cook. But I like the way I look in my clothes again! You CAN do it!

Thank you! My decision is to be here and I want to stay on track for life! In the past I have lost enough weight on Atkins so everyone says, Wow, what did you do? It is as though I get lazy and the next thing you know you are eating Pizza that you had zero interest in while on induction, weird. I hate pizza, I really do! Maybe it's the convenience that I like but it just isn't worth it.

I know if someone who is bipolar takes lithium it makes them feel 'normal' so they feel they can stop taking the meds and they just end up being manic again, that is the way I feel about this diet sometimes....it makes you feel human and normal again and the next thing you know you have gone back to your old ways!
