Hi there, I think I've finally reached the end of my rope! I have to lose at least one hundred pounds to have surgery. I had a complete hysterectomy just over two years ago and now have a reducible hernia caused most likely by the surgery. I had lost 50 lbs in the six months previous to the surgery and then over the past two years gained it all back plus a few more. I'm at 266 as of this morning and want to get down to 140. I'm almost 54 and 5'5.
I picked up Dr. Atkins' book at the library a couple of days ago and read enough to get me started and am working diligently through the book as if it were my new bible!
I have high b/p, fatty liver, sore knees, depression, no energy, and don't want to keep riding the roller coaster.
I've noticed quite a few newbies who are also looking for support and from my exploration of this forum, it looks like a wonderful place to be.
I'm looking forward to getting to know my fellow voyagers.
Oh, and just to clarify, I'm not doing this for the surgery. I'm doing it for my overall health and peace of mind. I just don't want to be like this anymore.
