  • Well worked a few years ago so i'm back

    Hi all,

    Just to say hello.

I am Lee a soon to be 40 year old bloke from Staffordshire.

At my heaviest i was 21 1/2 stone, thats 301 lb.

Managed to get down to sixteen stone a few years ago, then back up to 18 stone, now 17 stone 4.

Trying to get down to a relatively healthy 14 stone.

6 Ft tall and quite broad, so don't want to go much lower than that but we will see how i feel in a few months.

Last time i did Aitkins, I lost 10lb in the first week and 8 in the second before it slowed to four or five a week. That was with quite a lot of excercise, so hoping for similar results this time.

Just been on a low fat diet and got frustrated about how excited everyone got who had a huge ammount to loose and had managed to loose a pound a week.

Anyway, hope to see you around the boards and good luck to everyone.

    Lee

      Hi Lee,

      Welcome to ADBB!

It would be brilliant if you lost at the same rate as last time, but don't get discouraged if it goes slower. Our bodies change as we age... and weight loss doesn't always get easier. I've seen exceptions though, so I hope you'll be one of them. Good luck!

Welcome to the board Lee! There is no doubt that Atkins is so much better than low calorie because it's real food instead of rabbit food.

I'm sure you will do just fine and be looking and feeling much better real soon! Keep us posted on your progress!

Hi Lee I agree. it's so much nicer to eat and lose than to starve and lose
Make sure you take your measurements too, for those times the scale doesn't move, the tape measure can be uplifting!!

290 lbs. on 11/02/07 Goal: 145 lbs. or size 14 whichever comes first!

              Welcome, Lee!

I just wanted to echo what Georgiana said... you can't always count on things going exactly as they did before.

I am one of those who had a big amount of weight to lose (90 pounds on a 5 foot, 2.5 inch frame) and only averaged a loss of between 1 and 2 pounds a week... that means that some weeks I lost 2 pounds, most weeks I lost 1 pound, and some weeks I lost 0 pounds. But those losses surely did add up!

Best wishes to you on your journey!

Re: Well worked a few years ago so i'm back

Welcome Lee -- there are quite a few men here who may be able to answer some of your questions better than some of us ladies but we'll do the best we can!

After a few days on Atkins you'll wonder why this wasn't the first WOE you tried. Of course, I think the reason we all try all the others is so when we finally get here we are so grateful and happy that this is so much easier and healthier for us!

There are so much wonderful success stories to read about -- you can loose so much time reading all the different forums on the site. Good luck on your journey.
