  • 43 pounds lighter in 4-1/2months on atkins

i am a retired engineer (63). on oct. 23, 2008 i weighed 246#. I began the atkins diet with a passion. i never cheated and i have remained in ketosis since. i weigh using a balance beam scale. this morning, 3/9/09 I weigh 203. i have never been hungry on the diet. i have more energy than since i was a teenager. i am able to think much much better.

before the diet my fasting blood sugar level ranged from low 90s to 130, measured over 18 months. Since the atkins diet the FBS stays between 90 and 100. My Hb1AC went from 5.7% (avg 117 mg/dl) to now 4.8% (avg 91mg/dl). My last lab FBS was 91.

I wish I could post the spreadsheets or their images so that others could fully appreciate what the atkins diet can mean to their health.

in these many months i have studied many books on the subject. any type I or II diabetic or pre-diabetic who is not on Atkins diet is depriving himself of a valuable remedy to significantly lower his blood sugar level and fasting insulin levels.

    any questions are welcome.

Congratulations, nenad! Take a bow !

I've heard many wonderful stories about how much Atkins helps diabetics control blood sugar. That's wonderful.

You have done a remarkable job and are an inspiration to many!

Nenad, I belong to another site that has a Nenad. He's from Russia, but 44 years old. I must ask what's the origin of your screen name? Oh yeah, welcome! I've also lost exactly 43 pounds too.
