    Hello,
I am a 35 year old mother of 2. I have been married for 12 years and basically have been fat ever since the honeymoon ended. Several years ago, I was on Atkins and lost around 35 lbs. I have since gained that back and even more weight. I know this is the only diet that works for me. This time I intend on making it a new lifestyle and not just a diet. My goal is to spend the rest of my 30's healthier and with a trimmer body. I missed out on so much in my 20's and can't bear to miss out on that much of my 30's as well.
    Hopeful,

Hi there and welcome! Your story is so similar to mine, im 30 have 2 kids 12 and 6 and i had 2 c/sections. I too am determined my 30s will be full of fun and photos unlike my 20s which i basically spent hiding myself and my weight away. Good luck on your journey. I cant wait to hear about all your success.x

Hi 12years You're starting out with the right attitude....this needs to be a new way of life, not just a diet. It gets easier and more natural the longer you do it. Stick with it and you'll still look hot for the kids weddings

Thank you both for making me feel welcome on this site! I have a hunch that I will be visiting it a lot. Emmie30, it is good to know someone out there relates and that we are doing this together. Chicklady, I am inspired by your progress and appreciate your encouragement.

          Re: Newbie

I relate to you also. I was married for barely over a year when I got pregnant with the 1st one and kept popping them out for 3 years. Needless to say I gained 80 pounds with the 1st one and kept piling the weight on with each additional one. Now 12 years later here I am still with the original 80 pounds plus. I have a tendancy to want to run and hide when I see someone who I haven't seen since I've been obese. I'm ready to step out in the world and show them a new me. The present me is working on the new me. Well, lets rephrase that from the new me to a better healthier me.

Also, I totally agree with Chicklady. The longer you do it the easier it gets. You feel like you have come too far to turn back.

Welcome to the board and wish you well on the lifestlye change!

                    Desertthorn, Sallyseachange and Sunny_One,
Thank you so much for the warmest of welcomes! I am coveting these well-wishes and encouragements! I am only on my third day and it has been a difficult one. I think I am in a sugar/carb withdrawal. I made a birthday cake for my son and my self-control was REALLY tested when I poured the batter into the pans! I wanted to "clean the bowl",(eat the remainder of the batter left in the bowl) SO BADLY! If I had not spent time on the boards over the last 2 days. I probably would have done it. I am so glad I have you all to lean on and learn from.

                      Hello and Welcome !

The first few days will be the hardest with the carb withdrawals
also known as Induction flu. Just hang in there and in another day
or 2 it will be much better.

After a long week of work I would reward myself in the past on weekends
with Pizza, Chinese food, Hoagies and other fattning thinigs, Now, just
3 weeks into this I have no desire for any of it. Almost like magic.

And since you have done this way of eating before and you lost weight,
you KNOW it works if you work it and do it proper.

Yep, this board is great and hope it helps you as much as it does me.

                      Welcome again !!

Thanks Koober101! I appreciate the encouraging words. Also, I like your funny quotes in your signature. I am on day 9 and things have evened out for me (and my blood sugar!). I am feeling more confident as each day goes by and can actually see myself staying with this WOE for life, ( even without cheesy poofs!)
