    I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Janette, I am married and have two fabulous kids. I have been overweight since my husband and I met. I have never been skinny, but I gained most of my weight when we got together 13 years ago. I have done every diet known to man, and lost and gained too many times and pounds to count. I have had my Thyroid burned out after my son was born 5 years ago, so now I struggle even more. It is controlled with Synthroid, but still not leveled out. I know in my heart that Atkins is the only thing that makes me feel good and drops the pounds. I did it years ago, but never made it past the 2 weeks. I am so tired of being overweight and thinking about this day in and day out, I am doing this, this time! I have been reading posts on here for a couple of weeks now and I was scared to register because I thought then I have to be accountable for what I eat. "Ding, Ding, Ding, that is what you need Janette". So I am hoping this will help make this my last diet and truly learn this needs to be my WOL forever!

    Welcome, Janette! There are a lot of us here who realize that Atkins is our only hope to lose the weight and keep it off... so you are in good company.

    Don't stress about making it through two weeks. Just focus on one day at a time, and it will be behind you before you realize it! In the meantime, check out the recipe section of this board and also Linda's Low Carb Recipes. All the induction friendly recipes on her site are marked with an *. Arm yourself with lots of yummy recipes and it will be a lot easier and more satisfying!

      Hi Janette Welcome to ADBB. You're right, Atkins will make you feel great, so jump right on!! Being accountable isn't all that scary.....we only have the guns in little icons And the support is terrific!

        Welcome to the board Janette! We have made the rounds of all the other diets too and everyone of us knows that this one is the one that works for the long haul. So you are in good hands here. Keep us posted on your progress. Check in on the daily roll call board of your choice because they help get you going in the mornings. Good luck!

          Welcome Janette -- It's amazing that we have all been on other diets and finally came to the conclusion that this is the one we should have gone on first! This is a wonderful place to be - you'll find so many helpful people who understand whatever you are going through.

          Join in on the forums as much as you have time for -- don't forget to exercise, there is no excuse for not doing it and Dr. Atkins said it is a must! Go to the challenge area and check out the different exercise challenges there are - all free of charge. It's a way to keep yourself on track and help you along your way.
