  • 8 days into induction and already mucking up!!

    Hi everyone,

    just a quick message to introduce myself to the wonderful world of the bulletin board!
    I began my induction 8days ago, and it was going so well! I slipped up once by eating some peanuts but i didnt realise that they weren't allowed! However i went out last night and drank way too much alcohol!! I did stick to vodka and diet coke but there was alot of it!! This morning i woke up and ate 2 packets of crisps! Argh!! Feeling really demoralised!
    I dont seem to be having results as good as others but i only want to lose 20lbs so i guess i should really only expect to lose 2lbs or so in induction! Dont know whether to start again from scratch or just carry on?!!

    I don't really know if you should scrap it and start over or now, but I understand the temptation. My friends were all drinking mojitos and just straight rum last night. And my friend Eli had a bottle of Amaretto, which is one of my favourite alcohols. And we were all sitting in the lounge of our dorm watching a movie and they offered me some. I came soooo close. But Amaretto has a lot of sugar in it.

    Anyway. I know it's discouraging, but you can do this. Be strong.

      Hi Why not commit yourself to two short weeks of a clean induction. With only 20 pounds to lose, you'll probably be moving up the rungs quick enough, and alcohol is the 5th rung on the ladder. Crisps, however, aren't till near the end, so you will need to find a new munchie to keep a stash of. How about some chicken wings or a veggie tray with dip? The more Atkins friendly food you have ready to eat, the less likely you are to reach for illegal foods.

        Welcome Irishone! None of us are perfect so we have all slipped at one time or another. Just don't beat yourself up over it. It's like the proverbial horse; just get back on and keep going. I'm sure you'll do fine.

          Chicklady had excellent advice.... make yourself stick it out for two short weeks. Or two long weeks.

          It will make all the difference for you!
