  • New to Board But Not to Atkins

Hello everyone... I've been doing this WOL for about 2 1/2 years now however, I haven't been as "diligent" as I have been in the past as I was when I first started. So... I've recommitted myself to this plan AGAIN so that I can shed these last 15 - 20 pounds (I want them gone once and for all)

I just hope that I can find encouragement here and learn from others.

I know the last few pounds are the "hardest" to get rid of but... I'm willing to do what it takes to make it happen.

        Hello Healthy4life :wave
Welcome to our family of losers :joy :joy
Are you on OWL or pre-maintenance or still on extended induction?

Do join in on any forum but particularly the one for the stage of Atkins you are on. As you have been Atkineering for so long I am sure you will have advice to give us as well as being able to get help here when needed. :hug
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I'm in between "forever" Induction... and OWL...

I'd like to get to the MAINTENANCE STAGE because I don't like fluctuating between the WOL so much. However, I do admit that in the past I was on induction and lost some.. and then STANDSTILL... no weight loss and then I went to OWL and lost more... go figure.

I think my body doesn't like getting use to anything too long because then it stops doing anything such as "losing the weight". I saw this exact same thing in my exercise. I was a heavy treadmill user (still am) but, it wasn't until I added weights, and other machines like the epillitical that I started seeing yet another change in my body.

I think the key for me is to don't stay on one thing too long or else the body doesn't like it... CHANGE is what my body needs.

And think of moving up the OWL ladder as soon as you have done your 14 days induction.
This will stop you getting bored with induction menus and allow your body to work out what food groups you will be able to eat on maintenance as well as helping you discover your CCLL. As you found out before - OWL means ongoing weightloss, so there is no benefit from staying too long on induction.
Dr Atkins suggested we lose our last 5-10 pounds on the premaintenance stage to establish our carb level for maintaining our goal weight.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
