hi everyone. i will be startin the atkins diet tomorrow. i want to lose about 50 lbs. I am currently 5'4" and 178 lbs. this is bound to be a bumpy ride, but im ready for the challenge. any tips or suggestions are welcome and appreciated. good luck to you all

. You're going to love this way of eating (WOE) -- 1st of all, get the DANDR book (if you don't already have it look on Amazon, I got mine for under $5.00 with shipping). Learn and follow the rules as they are written -- this works and it's very easy once you get through the first couple days and the cravings go away. Measure yourself either tonight or in the morning and weigh yourself so you know where you are starting.
Use this site for all your questions, worries, good and bad news days...the more you use it the more it will help you. At the top of the page under forums are many different challenges, groups and other things to help you. Go to the induction area for the best help you can get to begin with. You need to drink at least 64 ounces of water a day -- not flavored water -- plain old water is the only thing that counts. This will keep your bowels moving and help flush out all the nasties in your system. Exercise is a must also -- we have lots of challenges you can join (they are all free) either exercise challenges and non-exercise challenges. Also, start a journal and write down what is going on each day and what you eat -- it will help if you aren't losing for awhile to find out what's going on.
