Hi everyone,
I'm 35 years old, and I recently realized that I'm starting to hide out from the world because of my weight.
I have 99 lbs to lose. And lots to gain if I can reach my goals.
(It's a little daunting to see that number in black and white.)
I (re)started today. My husband has started with me, although he only has about 30 lbs to drop.
I think I did Atkins about 9 years ago, for several months and eventually fell off the bandwagon. I think this is because I staying in induction too long, and eventually lost focus.
I tried again around 2003, but it didn't "take." In retrospect I believe this is because I used to many of the Atkins products instead of focusing on whole foods.
I've been eating organic foods and do my very best to avoid soy (among other things), unless it's fermented for health reasons (I have auto-immune hypothyroidism). While I recommit to Atkins I hope to maintain these two habits throughout. As I move on through the stages I plan to stay gluten-free.
Anyway, I don't want to list all my challenges here, suffice to say that carrying extra weight is not helping any of them! So it's got to go!
Over the past few days I've gotten rid of all the high-carb pastas and other items from the house and I'm looking forward to induction.
P.S. If your'e starting today too, let me know so we can support each other!
