  • Here we go :)

    Hi,
I want you all to know how encouraging this site is.

I'm a 50 year old bi-vocational pastor who loves life. My son and I just got back from a 10 day 2,000 mi. motorcycle ride to Key West. Awesome!

I'm a writer/musician, golfer, student pilot (working on my cross countrys now...any pilots out there?), married w/ one son and a 2 year old grandson named Destin (to all the grands reading this now aren't these children grand

I'm 6'2" and my weight has blossomed to a high weight of 301...ooooohhhhh! Like Popeye , "I've stands all I can stands and I can't stands no more!!!!!" hehehe

3/14 I was 301 lbs. (MOST I"VE EVER WEIGHED!) Started the no carbs this past Tuesday 3/17/09 at 297. Scales read 291 this morning so 6 lbs already!

If any of you read this pray for me, ok? I believe God can help with our will as well as our attitudes. I am so tired of being 100 lbs overweight.

If I can pray for any of you in particular I'd love to come alongside you on our journey and do what I can to help you also.

I don't know if I'm ready to post pix yet but maybe later

Thanks Tom for the invite and may you all have a super naturally blessed day!

Welcome to the board Pumped! Yes this site is awesome and you will find tons of support here.

You sound alot like my dh. He is a pilot and we ride motorcycles alot. Hobbies like that help to keep you outdoors alot and that helps with weight loss!

Check out the Century Club for people with a lot of weight to lose and take a peek at the recipe forum too.

      First of all, WELCOME!

Oh, dear... the part of your post that I quoted above worries me greatly. I just addressed this topic (no carbs) in another post in this forum, and rather than repeat everything here, I would like to provide the link to that post so you can read it. Here it is: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ack-wagon.html

Next, I want you to know that I will send some prayers upstairs for you. I, too, am very grateful for the presence of God in my life.

      See you around the board!

        Hi Mitzi,
Thanks for the thread and the greeting. Congrats on your personal success too I've got a friend sending me the newest version. I'll read it to better understand. Right now, I'm eating an egg, cheese, onion omelet for breakfast...hamburger w/ cheese and onions for lunch (today I had one pack of catsup or ketchup as we call it here in Lancaster hehehe) and for supper eating some meat and cheese from the Walmart deli. I'm also drinking alot of water. Does this regimen sound ok? Thanks for your help.

          Re: Here we go

Hello pumped2lose and welcome! Just wanted to let you know you definetly need to get your veggies in. 20 grams of carbs Atkins says during induction. Usually 2 cups of salad veggies and 1 cup of other low carb veggies like broccoli, zucchini, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, asparagus...He says 12-15 carbs from the veggies and the rest can be from cheese, cream cheese, sour cream and splenda if you use that. Ketchup has sugar so I would recommend looking for some sugar free ketchup. I am sending prayers your way. Actually I pray for the whole board before I lay my head down to rest each night. I can always use them my way too Looking foward to seeing you on the board. Would love to see you over at the Century Club. We do a daily roll call over there.
