  • Man, I hope this works.

    hey,
my name is sasha and i am 29 years old, 5ft3" and 140lbs. (i sound like i'm on a dating website.) I just started induction phase 1 and will be done with the 2 weeks on friday. I lost 10lbs in the 1st 10 days which was great, but now am not losing anything??? I think i messed up by eating too many atkins bars and making atkins maccaroons. (it said it was ok to eat?) Anyway, I'm getting married at the end of July and really want to look my best, I also would like to continue healthy eating for life. Unfortunatly, I am totally addicted to sugar and carbs.
I started the diet because I have psoriatic arthritis and my doctor said it would be benificial. I have tons of questions and can't wait to get responses.

    Welcome Sasha.
You have done wonderful losing that much that fast. It is normal to see a bit of a pause and the important thing is to keep going. If you want to eat healthy (and don't we all ) I recommend vegetables instead of bars and cookies. Exercise also helps in that department.
Congratulations with your upcoming wedding how exciting .

You sound as if you are about my size. I have been in the 140's and could not get out! I am at 146.5 and I am hoping to be at 130 some day. I am older than you are, so......I may slug along. I do feel thinner after 5 days, and have dropped a coupla pounds. So, here is to losing that pesky weight.

Re: Man, I hope this works.

Welcome to the board Sasha! And congratulations on losing so much so fast! That's a great start but it will slow down and that's normal. The healthy way to lose is just a few pounds a week so just be patient and stick with the diet and it will come off.

The Atkins bars are not allowed on induction and a lot of people, including me, never eat them because they can cause your weight loss to stall.

It would help us to see what you are eating and how much. Remember to drink lots of water and eat your veggies.

Hope to see you around the board!
