Hi! I just joined this bulletin board. I am a 34 year old stay at home mom of 4. I have just completed induction..not getting the results I had hoped for. My body is resisting for some reason..?? Maybe you can give some advice. I am not giving up this time!

What are your stats (height, starting weight, goal weight)? How much did you lose? Can you post one or two menus, including quantities for everything? Are you exercising? Drinking enough water? Taking any medication?

We need to know a little more before we can offer any advice.

Hello again Hmmm ... let's see: Too much salt? Diet soda? TOM (Time of the month)? I'm guessing with four kids you get plenty of exercise! Drinking plenty of water? Counting your carbs? Keeping a food journal (good free ones online, like FitDay, where you can gauge carbs, calories, activities ... even your mood!)

Anyway, hang in there ... some of us just lose more slowly than others. Join the club!

I drink mostly tea made with splenda..the salt I am not too sure about. I stay under twenty carbs. It has been two weeks and I only lost four pounds..I would be happy with this except the fact that I was in ketosis last week..and now it is not even showing a trace. I don't know what I have done different..I don't change my food that much from week to week..My husband has been on Atkins for a while and so he likes to have the same food...He is at goal weight and has been for over three years! When I was thin.. he wasn't and now it is the opposite! I want so bad to lose this weight..it controls my thoughts! (I hate that!) Thanks for the words of encouragement!

            Welcome to the board, Latoniar!

I know it can be frustrating to not lose more than 4 lbs. the first few weeks but at least it's something and you should be proud of yourself for sticking with it because that's a victory in itself.

Check for hidden carbs in what you're eating and make sure you aren't using too much sweetner because it can stall you.

The important thing is to not give up and having your dh on the plan too should make it easier. Just don't compare your loss to his because he has the advantage of a faster metabolism than you just because he's male. I know it doesn't seem fair but that's the way it is.

Just hang in there and it will work for you!
