  • Finally found some Support!

Hi, my name is Rachael and this is my oh....100th time to start Atkins
I have tried several "diets" and none really work for me but Atkins! My 1st official time to start this WOE was in 2003 and I went from 290 to 215, I was Happy with this for a while and maintained this on/off for 4yrs. I had gotten off track, had a 10lb gain and was just starting back when my Dad was killed in a horrible accident. This was in Jan. 2007 and I have been trying off/on to get back to this WOE since then with many more lbs added to that 10 by now....

My Official start date was 2/9/09 and I have done Very well with staying on track. I am seeing a small weight loss (10lbs) but I am losing inches and happy with how my clothes are fitting! I was looking for some info online and found this forum and some links to recipes which has been a Huge help. I'm thrilled to have found some consistent support and am looking forward to an active low-card board to become involved in.

    Re: Finally found some Support!

    Hi, Rachael

First, I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I can see how that would throw everything off-kilter.

I'm glad you've found us - if an active board is what you were looking for, you've come to the right place.

Our advice is based upon the 2002 version of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution. Have you read it yet? It's a great source of information and motivation. And if you haven't see this sticky yet, give it a look: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...-new-read.html

    Good luck!

        Re: Finally found some Support!

Hi Rachel - nice to meet you. This is the place you need to be with everything that has happened in your life. I just wish I could have found the support I've found here when my father passed, I'm sure it would have saved me many pounds!

When you get started it just seems so easy to keep going - the food is delicious so you don't get tired of just a few things to eat -- the possibilities are endless. Don't let yourself eat the same thing over and over, that just makes it harder to stay on plan. This link will give you so much information - I re-read it over and over just to keep my mind fresh. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...-approach.html

Good luck on your journey and healing -- take it one step, one day to your goal!

Read the DANDR book or at least make sure you know the rules and follow them!
