  • Back to Atkins

    Hello everyone!
I'm new to this forum. I did Atkins about 4 years ago and lost around 15kg in a few months. I am originally from Latin America and moved to Germany 2 yrs ago. The change in weather and the "eating culture" differences really played an important role in my weight gain. During the time I was in Europe I met an amazing guy who's my fiance now, and as you can imagine I am desperately trying to shed all those pounds i gained back.
We are getting married this November and i am trying to lose around 20 kg from now until the wedding day. Do you guys think is a reasonable thought? Should I stick to Induction for more than 2 weeks?
I really need help here!!! Even though I did Atkins before is kindda difficult to go back. I don't want to make any mistakes, especially now that i am trying to lose weight for my wedding day! Anyway guys... any suggestions and/or advices will be more than welcome. I want to look good in my wedding dress!!! Thanks.

    Re: Back to Atkins

    Hi Pinktulip
40 pounds in 7 months should be doable. You can stay with induction more than 2 weeks, but many people find that the extra veggies on rung 1 actually helps them lose weight.
and not to sound like your mother (too much ) but this is a lifestyle change!! You will gain it back if you don't make it one! Follow the ladder, and learn what your carb tolerance level is.
Congratulations on the impending nuptuals and welcome to ADBB!!

        Re: Back to Atkins

Hi and thanks for your support.
Unfortunately i weighted myself a few minutes ago and had a huge disappointment.
According to me my weight was 85 kg (that was the last number i saw on the scale when i weighted myself a few weeks ago), but then i looked down and the number i saw was a horrendous 92 kg!!!!!!
I am about to cry!!! How did this happen?? 85 kg was my heaviest record and honestly i am stunned now.
I really have to so something about my weight ASAP!!
So guys... its no longer 20 kg that i have to lose, its 27!
Please, i need some words of encouragement right now because i really feel like .
My wedding is in November and i want to look good.
I'll keep track of my weight and measurements every week and will keep you guys posted on whats going on.
        Thanks for reading me.

              Hi Chicklady,
I have to say this weight gain was pre-atkins.
I just started Atkins today and didnt realize (until today) i gained that much weight since the last time i weighted myself.
I must admit i am really happy i decided to start atkins because i was not aware of how much weight i was putting in!!
So, my menu for the day, so far, is:
Sausage, steak, green bell pepper, tomato, onion, and planning to eat caesar salad (without the croutons) for dinner. Am i on the right track? Thanks for your help i really really appreciate it.
              **Hugs**

                Re: Back to Atkins

What you are eating looks fine....assuming the sausage and salad dressings have no sugar. I'm hoping you are keeping track of how much of the veggies you are eating.
Have you tried the Fitday program? www.fitday.com You can use the online version or buy the PC version (I have the PC version) great tracking tool.
