hi, i tried to create a ticker and then it said to copy and paste into a post, but all i get is the urls posted and not the actual ticker. please help--i need the motivation!

What you can also do is insert that link as an image in your signature. There is a yellow-ish image icon on top of the text box. When you click on it, a new window will appear asking you to insert a link. Paste the link you posted above and you should see the image when you click Preview.

once you get to step 4 making the ticker, which code/html thing are you supposed to copy and copy it to where? i thought just into a post and then from then on it would always attach to your posts. what am i doing wrong??

There are some links on top of the screen. Next to the one that says "Log Out", there is one which says "Quick Links". Click on the arrow there, go under "Control Panel" and click on "Edit Signature". You will get a field where you can paste the code."Get action. Seize the moment.
